Mike and I are at the IYH, Ideal Youth Hostel, of Barcelona. Tonight we head off on a 20 hour "cruise" to a port 50 km north of Rome. From there, we bike into the city and stay at Carlo's place. Thanks ahead of time Carlo!
As for the night in Barcelona ... very different place than the other Spanish cities we have seen. It has much more of a London feel with lots more English and upscale shopping. While viewing the local futbol game and enjoying a jug of sangria, Mike was confronted with a pickpockter. Unfortunately for the to-be-thief, Mike had reactions like a cat, brushing the slippery hand away and spilling a cup of red sangria on the criminal's white jeans in one quick swipe.
I realize that we have highlighted a lot of the scary moments on the blog. Don't worry, we have felt very safe throughout the trip.
